I also think this thread started on a bad foot, so I probably have some automatic confirmation bias when someone comes in swinging on one side or the other.īut hey, Hopefully some ideas flow or everyone has a good time.Īctually, thought I should go ahead and give a serious reply to this since I kinda just memed at first. Then I'll turn around and uppercut 'pillage friendly' people who don't like the idea of upgrading the defensive city AI in some way(I still want a Tavern Buff to hire Drunk General Grant to lead the city defense in a 'Rogue unfriendly' C-map kind of way). Probably why I enjoy arguing that pillaging is 'wrong' or a 'mean action', but immediately about face and uppercut the 'anti-plunder' people who take that another step to try 'limiting' plundering. The difference between a 'clever trick' versus a 'cheating, low-punch, etc' can vary depending on the judge. From my point of view, the current set-up isn't unfair, but gives incentive to people to 'hoard' their power for domination purposes. As your example illustrates, it appears to always be the people who 'want something' that point out the 'not fair' of the situation. Hence my focus on 'real versus unreal' in my admonishments. So I may just be a 'bitter vet' who complains either way. My first exposure to serious 'fairness' debates was my brief stint in Eve Online. *Pouts and rides off on their High horse*īut Seriously, I hear ya. I probably got distracted by the thread title.
